vMapQL …

Ermöglicht die flexible Zuordnung interner und externer Microdrives zu einer Vielzahl von Adresskombinationen. So können beispielsweise externe Microdrives (oder virtuelle Laufwerke) als mdv1 oder mdv2 angezeigt werden.

Die Stromversorgung erfolgt über den Microdrive-Bus. Abgesehen von einer relativ einfachen Installation sind keine Änderungen an der QL-Hardware erforderlich (siehe Installationshandbuch). Die Konfiguration erfolgt entweder über ein kleines, eigenständiges Dienstprogramm oder über das Toolkit, das standardmäßig mit dem zugehörigen Microdrive-Hardware-Emulator vDriveQL geliefert wird.

Konfigurationsänderungen werden im nichtflüchtigen Speicher gespeichert und beim Einschalten des QL abgerufen. Alle Änderungen, einschließlich der aktuellen Konfiguration beim Einschalten, werden auch an den vDriveQL (sofern angeschlossen) übermittelt.
