The Ginfull V3 TMR Analog Stick is a high-quality replacement and upgrade module for Sony PlayStation 4 DualShock 4 controllers.

Conventional analog sticks detect stick position using mechanical potentiometers. With continuous use, the contact tracks inside these potentiometers can wear over time. This type of wear is one of the most common causes of stick drift.

The Ginfull V3 instead uses modern TMR sensor technology (Tunnel Magnetoresistance). The position of the analog stick is detected magnetically and without physical contact, eliminating the traditional wear-prone potentiometer tracks used for position sensing.

The module is suitable both for repairing existing stick drift and as a TMR upgrade for a DualShock 4 controller.

The analog stick can be installed in either the left or right stick position and includes the corresponding L3/R3 push-button function.

⚠️ Important: Installation is not plug-and-play. The existing analog stick must be desoldered from the controller mainboard and the new TMR module soldered into place. Calibration is recommended after installation.

TMR Technology

TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) is a magnetic sensor technology used for contactless detection of the analog stick position.

Traditional analog stick modules use potentiometers with contact surfaces that are mechanically stressed whenever the stick is moved. Over time, these surfaces can wear and produce inaccurate position readings.

TMR sensors detect the position magnetically without relying on the sliding contact tracks typically found in conventional potentiometers.

This makes TMR technology particularly suitable as a durable alternative for controllers and helps reduce the risk of potentiometer-related stick drift.

Installation

Replacing the analog stick requires soldering work on the DualShock 4 controller mainboard.

The existing analog stick module must be completely desoldered before the Ginfull V3 TMR module can be correctly soldered into place.

Due to the number of solder joints and larger mechanical mounting points, removing the original joystick module can be challenging without suitable soldering and desoldering equipment.

For installation, we recommend:

• Suitable soldering and desoldering equipment
• Experience working with multi-pin through-hole components
• Careful cleaning of the solder joints
• Checking the mainboard for damaged pads or traces
• Calibration after installation

Installation should only be carried out by users with appropriate technical experience.
