The Ginfull V3 TMR Analog Stick is a high-quality replacement and upgrade module for Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers.

Conventional analog sticks detect stick position using mechanical potentiometers. With continuous use, the contact surfaces inside these potentiometers can wear over time, which is one of the most common causes of stick drift.

The Ginfull V3 instead uses modern TMR sensor technology (Tunnel Magnetoresistance). The position of the analog stick is detected magnetically and without physical contact, eliminating the traditional wear-prone potentiometer tracks used for position sensing.

The module is suitable both for repairing existing stick drift and for upgrading a DualSense controller to TMR technology.

The stick can be installed in either the left or right analog stick position and includes the corresponding L3/R3 push-button function.

⚠️ Important: Installation is not plug-and-play. The existing analog stick must be desoldered from the controller mainboard and the new TMR module soldered into place. The stick should then be calibrated.

TMR Technology

TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) is a magnetic sensor technology that enables contactless detection of the analog stick position.

Unlike conventional analog sticks with potentiometers, TMR position sensing does not rely on mechanically sliding contact tracks that can wear down through repeated stick movement.

This makes TMR technology particularly suitable as a durable alternative to traditional analog stick modules and helps reduce the risk of wear-related stick drift.

Typical Fault Symptoms

Replacement may be useful for problems such as:

• Stick drift
• Character or cursor moves without user input
• Analog stick no longer centres correctly
• Irregular or inaccurate stick movement
• Worn potentiometers in the original analog stick
• Faulty left analog stick
• Faulty right analog stick
• Problems with the existing L3/R3 stick module

⚠️ Stick drift can also have other causes. We recommend checking the controller and mainboard before replacing the analog stick.

Compatibility

Compatible with:

• Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense Controller
• Left analog stick / L3
• Right analog stick / R3

⚠️ Before installation, please compare the existing analog stick module, connections and physical design with the product images.

Installation

Replacing the analog stick requires soldering work on the controller mainboard.

The existing analog stick module must be completely desoldered before the Ginfull V3 TMR module can be correctly soldered into place.

Removing an analog stick can be challenging without suitable soldering and desoldering equipment due to the number of solder joints and larger metal mounting points.

Installation is therefore recommended only for users with appropriate soldering experience and suitable equipment.

⚠️ Please Note

Replacing an analog stick is not a simple plug-and-play repair. The original stick must be desoldered and the new TMR module correctly soldered onto the controller mainboard.

Calibration should be performed after installation.

TMR technology eliminates the wear-prone contact tracks used by conventional potentiometers for position sensing, helping to reduce wear-related stick drift. However, it cannot prevent every possible mechanical or electronic fault that may occur in an analog stick or controller.
