This adaptive trigger unit is an original replacement part for the Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, revision BDM-030. It is the left trigger mechanism, responsible for the adaptive resistance function of the L2 button.

The part is required when the left trigger no longer functions properly, the adaptive resistance feature stops working, or trigger-related issues occur. Typical symptoms include missing adaptive feedback, stuck triggers, unusual noises, or a non-functional L2 mechanism.

Common causes of failure include mechanical wear, damaged internal gears, a defective motor, or damage after drops or improper repairs. Replacing the adaptive trigger unit restores the original functionality of the controller.
