This set of rubber / silicone button pads is designed as a replacement for the internal button membranes of the Nintendo DS Lite (NDSL).

The silicone membranes are located inside the console between the plastic buttons and the corresponding contact areas. When a button is pressed, the membrane is compressed and helps activate the contact underneath.

Over time, the original rubber membranes can wear out, lose their elasticity, tear or become damaged. This can cause individual buttons to feel soft or unresponsive, fail to spring back correctly or require increased pressure to register an input.

This set includes the matching silicone pads for the corresponding button areas of the Nintendo DS Lite and is suitable for repairing or refurbishing the console.

The Nintendo DS Lite must be opened to replace the button membranes.

This product is a new third-party replacement part and not an original Nintendo product.

Button Areas

The set contains the corresponding silicone membranes for several button areas of the Nintendo DS Lite.

The pads are positioned underneath the respective plastic buttons and provide the mechanical return action while helping to activate the contacts underneath.

Replacing the membranes can help restore the mechanical function of buttons where the original rubber pads have become worn, torn, hardened or damaged.

Typical Fault Symptoms

Replacing the rubber button pads may be useful for problems such as:

• Buttons feel soft or spongy
• Buttons no longer spring back correctly
• Buttons occasionally remain pressed
• Buttons require unusually high pressure
• Inputs are not registered reliably
• Silicone membrane is torn
• Rubber membrane has hardened or worn out
• Membrane was damaged during a previous repair
• Missing or damaged button membranes

⚠️ Not every button problem is caused by the silicone pads. Dirty or damaged contact surfaces, defective conductive traces, damaged flex cables or other electronic problems can cause similar symptoms.
